New COBRA-ccentric Stills for 'G.I. Joe: Retaliation'

A series of COBRA-ccentric promotional stills turned up online yesterday (via Superhero Hype) with my fav being the above of Cobra Commander (which I wished someone gave him tighter pants or something) and Storm Shadow, flanked on both sides by Cobra Troopers (looked like the "recruitment video" worked, huh?) who ditched their blues for urban-camo-gear, and the Red Ninjas behind them, looking very Imperial Guards in Star Wars LOL

Recruitment Video for "Cobra Special Forces" (G.I.Joe: Retaliation Promo)

An "army recruitment"-styled commercial, for COBRA = awesumsauce! I certainly like the promo-direction for the upcoming "G.I.Joe: Retaliation" movie. And seems activities has ramped up at the "Cobra Special Forces" viral website @ www.cobraspecialforces.com, and they even have a Facebook page (Yahoo!Movies got the scoop).

WHO IS COBRA COMMANDER?

... I've suddenly got this funny feeling that MOVIE-Cobra Commander will look like this Hasbro San Diego Comic-Con Exclusive figure [via] ... and man, I sure hope I'm utterly wrong tho! As "funny" as a battle-helmet may look on a live-person (IMHO), a rag draped over with holes cut-out would similarly be both ridiculous and perhaps even offensive - but of coz this is pure speculation on my part, yeh? Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays the exhalted G.I.Joe nemesis (he looks sorta like a young Heath Ledger, dunt he?) and along with Destro, whose "final"-look may remain a mystery ... until an image-leak comes along, that is! LOL

Sienna Miller is The Baroness

Sienna Miller has been announced as the first cast member to sign on for the live-action “G.I. Joe” film, according to Variety. the role is described as "a raven-haired baroness and sexy femme fatale skilled in espionage." [Wizard] = which sure as heck's not Scarlet, innit? HAH. personally, it all seems like a miscast (as hawt as Sienna seems on select online-images) and an obvious play at harnessing "star-power" (*gack*), not least 'coz the movie-script is as yet uncompleted due the to the Writer's Strike, innit? gimme some official styling-images to shut my mouth encourage me, purleeze!

Baroness serves as the COBRA Organization's intelligence officer and lieutenant to Cobra Commander. With long black hair, black rimmed glasses, and a black leather outfit, Baroness is a dark, sensual femme fatale whose beauty is matched only by her ruthlessness. “G.I. Joe” will be directed by Stephen Sommers and is slated to begin production in February with an eye towards a summer 2009 release. The Paramount film based on the popular toy line will focus on a European-based military unit known as Global Integrated Joint Operating Entity (G.I.J.O.E.), a high-tech, international force of special operatives that battles an evil organization led by a notorious arms dealer.
